Creepers

¿Y a vosotros? ¿Os gustan? ¿Con qué las combinaríais?

¡Feliz comienzo de semana!

.......................................................................................................................................

Hi all! How's the beginning of the week? Here it's very, very cold!

Surely everyone knows the Creepers, this shoe as seen especially in the 50s style, but for some clueless I make a brief description to know where they come:

They were created in 1949 by George Cox and sold under the name of Hamilton because of the second name of its inventor.

The soldiers of North African bases after World War II, wore canvas shoes with soles rubber hard to combat both heat and cold of the desert. Upon leaving the army, many came to "defend" in the London night with this shoe and to develop in places like Kings Cross and Soho comes to giving them the name of Brothel Creepers.
In the 50's worn by Teddy Boys and rockabilly, with jackets, jackets closed, tight pants, toupees, etc.. So it was trend in the 50s - 60s.

Regained much popularity in the early 70's when Malcolm McLaren sell it at his store Let it Rock on Kings Road, where besides the Teddy boys were extended to public input general with McLaren's partner, Vivienne Westwood. The Creeper has been adopted by subcultures such as ska, punk fashion's, psychobilly, greasers, goths or Visual Keiser.

Well after this, I must say I've been obsessed with Creepers and i want ones. I love it and I think in addition to being great, are very comfortable.

What do you think? Do you like it? What would you wear with Creepers?

Happy beginning of the week!

creepers are amazing, i've wanted some for ages. i'd probably get the all black leather ones with with a lower sole. i think the platform ones can sometimes look a bit weird.

also, i just wanted to say that i've just discovered your blog and i really like it, definitely going to be keeping up to date with your posts :)
